What is meant by the righteous being compared to “calves of the stall”?

“This language was common and proverbial in biblical culture. … Calves that were fed and fattened in the stalls, as opposed to grazing on the range, were especially healthy and strong and produced the best breeding stock and meat. This may be a figurative expression for the children of the covenant, ‘hand-fed’ and raised by the Lord” (Largey, Book of Mormon Reference Companion, 526, 528).
