“The Covenants of the Father… Unto Abraham”
The Lord covenanted with Abraham that his posterity, having the gospel of salvation and the priesthood, would thus be called upon to gather Israel from among the nations of the earth. Israel would be gathered in the last days so that the Lord might renew with them his everlasting covenant, as he did anciently with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (Abraham 2:9-11.)
