“As the Lord begins the gathering, he will follow a prophesied sequence. First, he will bring the gospel forth to the Gentiles. … The Gentiles then have a responsibility to take it to all the nations of the world. Finally, the testimony of Christ will go to the Jews. As Isaiah saw, through the Gentiles the Lord would ‘set up my standard to the people.’ … It would be through the ministrations of the Gentiles that the generality of the house of Israel would come to the gospel” (Parry and Parry, Understanding the Signs of the Times, 62; see D&C 45:9).
