It was by revelation that Nephi received the necessary instruction for the building of the ship that would take the families of Lehi and Ishmael to the New World. This illustrates that with God all things are spiritual. The sweat and tears shed in the building of the ship were a sacrament, for the building of the ship was a form of worship and an act of faith. “Not at any time have I given unto you a law which was temporal; neither any man, nor the children of men; neither Adam your father, whom I created,” the Lord said (D&C 29:34).
