Verses 32-34 set up the conclusion in verse 35. The build-up of the argument centers on the righteousness of the children of Israel, and the relationship of that righteousness to their success in entering their promised land. Verse 34 makes Nephi's point that their success was directly related to their comparative righteousness over the people they conquered.
