Nephi starts out by saying he took one of the daughters of Ishmael to wife, but he failed to tell us whether or not this was the girl who stood up for him in the desert and helped save his life when the older men in the party were going to leave Nephi in the desert to be devoured by wild animals. It is also interesting that Lehi had only four sons but Ishmael had five daughters. This provided one extra who became the wife of Zoram the faithful servant of Laban. Now Nephi says he and his father had fulfill every commandment the Lord had given them thus far.
