As the prophecies of the scattering and gathering of Israel apply to the Lamanites, so they apply to all the tribes of Israel. The Lamanites were but an illustration of how the prophecies applied in the larger sense to all of the house of Israel. That is to say, as the descendants of Lehi were scattered and lost in unbelief until that day when they again accept the gospel, so the Jews and all the tribes of Israel must, after the day of their suffering, be restored again to the true knowledge of Christ and the saving doctrines and ordinances of his gospel.
