“Other Books, Which Came Forth”
There can be no doubt that Nephi saw in vision the coming forth of the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible, and surely other precious portions of scripture through the appointed channels-through the prophets and seers placed to govern the latter-day Church of Jesus Christ. These “other books” have a mission similar to that of the Book of Mormon-that of “proving to the world that the holy scriptures” (the messages contained in the Bible) “are true” (D&C 20:11).
