“Which Slayeth the Saints of God”
The church which Nephi saw in vision was apostate Christianity, that which came unto being after New Testament times. However, “This is the kind of inspired utterance that is fulfilled over and over again by the same or an equivalent organization. As it happened in the first centuries of the Christian era, so, we may be assured, it has happened and will happen again in our dispensation. The day of persecution and martyrdom has not passed. ” (The Millennial Messiah, p. 51.)
