The calling of Twelve Apostles for the ministry of Christ in America must have been extremely impressive to Nephi. His descendants were going to receive everything the followers of Christ received in Jerusalem. It is interesting that in the Book of Mormon the Twelve Apostles who ministered in this land were referred to as disciples, even though they did have an Apostolic calling. Then the angel had something to say about those who would be called to be Apostles in Jerusalem and also something to say about those who would be called to Apostles or disciples in America.
