This passage again links Christ’s ministry on the two continents, this time through the twelve apostles. After a reminder of the original twelve, Nephi sees a corresponding twelve in the New World and would naturally assume that the second group would also receive power and authority like the original twelve. However, there is no clear indication in the vision where Nephi’s seed might be. Unless he had previous prophetic knowledge of their ultimate destination in the New World, he could only assume that they would not be in the same location as the Messiah and his first twelve.
