Now the vision of the Virgin is, for a time, blotted out, and when she again appears, she has a lovely child, whom the angel introduces by the joyful message: "Behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father!"
That was the end of this part of the vision. The angel, therefore, asked Nephi, "Knowest thou [now] the meaning of the tree which thy father saw?" He had asked for an explanation of the symbol of the tree. The vision had been given in answer to that request. He understood.
