“I, Nephi, Was Desirous Also That I Might See, and Hear, and Know”
God, who is no respecter of persons, delights to reveal himself and his mysteries to those who diligently seek him in righteousness and in truth (see D&C 76:5-10). God not only reveals himself to Apostles and prophets but in addition makes himself known to all those of his Saints who pay the spiritual price to see and hear and know in speaking of making one’s calling and election sure and subsequently gaining the blessings of the Second Comforter-the right to the literal presence of the Savior-Joseph Smith taught: “God hath not revealed anything to Joseph, but what He will make known unto the Twelve, and even the least Saint may know all things as fast as he is able to bear them” (Teachings, p. 149)
