“They Did Come Unto Me and Partake of the Fruit”

Brant Gardner

Narrative: The fact that Lehi sees Sariah, Sam, and Nephi links them as a narrative unit, making them part of the vision and responsive to his words.

Symbolism: When Lehi calls Sariah, Sam, and Nephi, they hear him and obey his invitation. By extension, this simple act symbolizes our responsiveness to the Savior’s call. The strength of the vision, however, lies in its reminder that the simple faith of Sariah, Sam, and Nephi contrasts to the skepticism and confusion of those depicted in the remainder of the vision.
