“Let Us Be Strong Like Unto Moses”
In a day when theologians of the world have “demythologized” and metaphorized into meaninglessness many of the events of the Old and New Testaments, it is refreshing to turn to an additional scriptural witness to find testimony of the reality of the miraculous among the sons and daughters of God in antiquity. As discussed in the introductory remarks of this volume, one of the stated purposes of the Book of Mormon is to prove to the world that the holy scriptures are true, and that God does call and inspire and empower his servants in all ages of the earth’s history (D&C 20:11). The Book of Mormon is an additional witness of the actuality of Moses and of the remarkable events surrounding the delivery of the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage (cf. 1 Nephi 17:23-34).
